Located in the Shropshire countryside, FoodFriendsFlowers run creative floral design workshops that celebrate food, friendship and the love of country flowers. Sustainability and providing a mindful experience is at the heart of what we do.
Discover bespoke courses for making unique dried floral creations, such as wreaths and swags, which have a low environmental impact. Participants are fuelled by homemade, locally-sourced food and encouraged to focus on having fun and enjoying the mindful experience of being creative.
Who are we?
FoodFriendFlowers is founded and run by Avril from a converted outbuilding on her smallholding, just outside Ludlow, where she lives with her husband Ian.
Growing up as a farmer’s daughter in mid-Wales has provided Avril with a lifelong knowledge of the countryside and love of plants.
The dried material used in her creations comes from her own garden and that of friends, and neighbours. Avril also recycles wedding flowers, such as roses, delphiniums, lemonium, ferns, to create beautiful, long-lasting memories – not only of the flowers but of friends and families getting together to reminisce about the big day.
Avril recently retired as a NHS health visitor and remains passionate about emotional well-being and families. Her other lifelong passions are interior design and cooking, each fuelled and inspired by regular visits to East London to visit her son.
